muddling

Mom tells me that most of life is you muddle through the best you can, and she's right. You aren't going to get everything right. You won't always know what's right. You're going to mess up badly. You're going to get hurt and you're going to hurt other people. That's not what life is about, but it's a big part of life. And you just have to deal with it.

But love, if it is real love, conquers even this.

  1. It's pretty scary to hear all this "wisdom" that you've been listening to over the years. I just hope that most of it's right.

  2. Umm,'muddle through'?! Although we live in an imperfect world and we are imperfect people, I certainly hope people haven't resigned themselves to aimlessly wander through life, merely wishing and hoping to get satisfactory results. Life, and not just a big part of it, will always be what you make of it: we don't mess up badly, we learn from experience;when you hurt someone, you get an opportunity to learn about that person, and yourself. Life is your personal lesson, of which every experience becomes valuable and life changing;simply answering a question 'yes' instead of 'no' could possibly change everything; if you muddle through it, how can you become the best you could possibly be? I hope you enjoy your life and LIVE it instead of letting it happen :)

  3. Tangie,

Muddling doesn't mean wandering aimlessly. It means you don't always know what the best decision is, and you're just going to have to do your best, and if it turns out badly, deal with it, learn and grow from it.

  4. muddle-- to make turbid or muddy; to think or act in a confused, aimless way...muddle through-- to achieve a degree of success without much planning or effort. Again I leave you with my hope that you make a conscious decision to live and enjoy your life to the fullest, not just 'deal with it.'
    love.
